For over two hundred years Japanese farmers have crafted Kokeshi dolls and given them as unique messages of love and friendship.

The traditional techniques of Kokeshi have passed down through the many generations of ‘Kiji-Shi’ craftsmen and today they are still fashioned in the same way. Hand carved lovingly from Chestnut, Cherry, Keyaki and Dogwood… each piece is named by the artist who created it.

The vibrant inks are all carefully applied by hand and every piece is finished with a soft wax which helps give each Kokeshi doll a warm glowing appeal.
